Has anybody ever seen a hoax magazine article about a vampire frog that lives in Florida swamps?
This would have been about 20 years ago. Possibly in the April edition of some monthly publication.
The article stated that newly constructed golf courses were encroaching onto the just-discovered species habitat and some unfortunate golfers who ventured into the swampy rough would come out screaming with hungry frogs attached to their necks.
Since I have never met another person who saw the article I'm beginning to wonder if I just imagined or dreamed it.
The Journal of American Folklore, the quarterly journal of the American Folklore Society since the Society's founding in 1888, publishes scholarly articles, essays, notes, and commentaries directed to a wide audience, as well as separate sections devoted to reviews of books, sound recordings, film and videotapes, and exhibitions and events. Commentaries briefly address topics raised in earlier articles.
